2018年7月3日発表（東京） - 2Kは、NBAオールスターに2回出場したミルウォーキー・バックスのスタープレイヤーである、ヤニス・アデトクンボ（Giannis Antetokounmpo）選手を『NBA 2K』通常版のカバー選手に起用することを発表しました。
NBA史上初めて、レギュラーシーズンの得点、リバウンド、アシスト、スティール、ブロックの全部門で上位20名に入ったヤニスは、その驚異的な運動能力から、ヤニスの出身地であるギリシャになぞらえて“グリーク・フリーク（Greek Freak）”の愛称で呼ばれています。
